Make sure your heating is performing efficiently so that you are as comfortable as possible.

Having no heating while you are trying to work from home during the winter period is no fun. As the weather turns colder get your boiler serviced and give your central heating system the once over.

If you are working from home and noticing that your heating is not performing as it should, radiators are not heating fully, the system is making strange noises or if your boiler is more than 10 years old. It may be time to invest in a new boiler.

This allows you to heat your domestic hot water without being forced to turn on your space heating. Additional zones can also be put in place in large homes to split upstairs and downstairs or living areas and bedrooms. This then allows you to only turn the heating on in whatever area of the house you are using, for example upstairs while you are working.

You can go even further and install a smart system such as Honeywell. This system allows you to control up to 12 zones on your heating using an app on your mobile phone. Heating controls also allow you to plan your usage over a 7 day week and even allow you to switch to holiday mode when you are away from home.

We now have so many options of when and how we heat our home. With our busy lifestyles, apps and high tech thermostats are an easy solution to your heating controls.

But first, what are your options and how do they work?

Climote

Climote is a very popular heating controls system. The product is simple and allows you to control your home heating from anywhere through a smartphone app or simply by sending it a text message.

The app is available for iPhone and Android users. On the app you can see all your heating settings at a glance, boost your heating on from anywhere, schedule your heating or turn it off.

Amazingly the heating controls also has a ‘Multi Zone’ system which allows you to control up to three separate heating zones.
